Where grand trees meet great rocky cliffs, creatures who climb both with ease roam. Farslicers move in large groups of 50-100 members in the upper branches of the trees, rarely coming to the ground. The local giants claim that they are spirits of the forest, and that this tie to the trees is what allows their bodies to grow the woody horns that mark their brows. Both male and female farslicers have these boomerang growths, with male’s being slightly larger and more colorful, but equal in sharpness. These main use of these horns is to cut down fruit, peel bark, and hack open nuts, but they are also useful weapons.
Farslicers are clever and social creatures, capable of throwing their boomerangs with incredible accuracy, even hitting targets that are out of sight. They rarely use them against the giant predators of the land, who are too large to be deterred, mostly saving them for troop to troop disputes and smaller predators. These bladed weapons are not thrown when two males face off within a group. Instead, they first show off how long their horns are in a threatening dance before swinging them as melee weapons. Fatalities from these fights are not unknown, and the bodies of the losers often fall to the forest floor, feeding the creatures of the dark undergrowth.
